1970

1st Class Hons. Art and Design Belfast College of Art
During this time Cora also won several awards including Student of the Year and a commission from British Enkalon – a 10’x8’ panel to hang in their London boardroom She won 1st prize 2nd and Highly Commended at the R.D.S. National Competition for the Applied Arts with three textile pieces.

1970-74

Freelance designer while living in Africa.

1990

Part time work and raising a family prevented Cora from furthering her art career until 1990.
She was elected to full membership of The Pastel Society of Ireland.

1992

Solo exhibition in Malone House Belfast by invitation.
Roy Edwards Gallery Portadown commissioned a series of landscapes.

Newry and Mourne Council commissioned five paintings and a purchase for Newry Museum.

From 1990 Cora has been selected to hang many times in the Laing National Art Competition and has on a number of occasions been a finalist with paintings hung in Malone House and the Mall Galleries in London.

1993

Winner of Laing N.I. exhibited Belfast and Mall Galleries London.

1994

Cora was elected a member of the Royal Ulster Academy Association reformed in 1997 as the Arts Society of Ulster.
Awarded the A.S.U. Perpetual Silver Medal for a portrait.
Finalist Laing –semi-abstract collage exhibited Belfast and Mall Gallery London. Mural 12 feet x 70 feet private commission

1995

Selected for Laing Exhibition –semi-abstract pastel.
Royal Mail commission – landscape for Frank Kerr Memorial.

1996

Northern Ireland Fire Authority – Three paintings commissioned by Dennison Commercials.
Cora has also received many private commissions and has work in private collections in.Ireland, the U K, U S A. Canada and S. Africa.

Four portraits shown in a portrait exhibition in St. Patrick’s Trian, Armagh.

2000

A series of large bold flower paintings in watercolour was commissioned by Newcastle Art Gallery.

Since 1990 work has been shown in Newry Arts Centre, Malone House Belfast (solo exhib.), Roy Edwards, Portadown, The Green Gallery and R D S Dublin, Mall Galleries London, The Newcastle Art gallery.

2000 – 2007

Group Exhibitions — Newcastle Art Gall at the Antiques and Fine Art Fair, King’s Hall Belfast and the R.D.S. Dublin. Island Irish Art Gallery, Coleraine, Manor Fine Arts, Banbridge, Clare Gallery, Ballyclare, Seabright Gallery, Rostrevor The Nicholas Gallery and The Taylor Gallery, Lisburn Road Belfast.

Cora has worked in all media over a wide range of subject matter from traditional commissioned pieces including portraits of people, horses and dogs, to more contemporary and semi-abstract works. She has given demonstrations, workshops and illustrated talks  and taught classes in drawing and painting in all media. 

Work is currently on show in Manor Fine Arts, 18 Rathfriland St. Banbridge and The Taylor Gallery, 471 Lisburn Road, Belfast
